Types and Benefits Of Winches

Selection of the right winch for your car

The main decisive factor when it comes to choosing the right winch is the weight of the vehicle. Ideally, the pull rating of your winch should be 50% more than the vehicle weight. For example, a jeep weighing 10,000 lbs needs a winch rated for 15000 lbs. Every manufacturer makes some design variation and installation may vary accordingly. An electric winch, for an instance, may be installed vertically or horizontally.
