Cognito is an industry leader in the design, development and manufacturing of high-quality, proprietary suspension, steering and chassis components for popular trucks and UTVs. Company founder Justin Lambert started Cognito in 2001, operating out of a converted chicken coop in Arroyo Grande, California.

Influenced by his dad’s passion for racing and determined to become a mechanical engineer, Justin’s path lead to an opportunity to design suspension components for a garage-based startup. As his designs and attention to detail gained notoriety, the young business faltered, but with countless hours invested and eyes opened to the possibilities that his work was creating—Justin took a leap of faith and made a deal to take over the fledgling enterprise, striking off on his own.

At the helm, Justin wasted no time making it his own by formally naming his new company Cognito, a name he had brainstormed and knew he would use for his own company one day. With that day now over a decade in history, Justin went on to grow Cognito into one of America’s preeminent manufacturers of high quality aftermarket performance products for trucks and UTVs.

While our steering solutions continue to give new life to truck handling and over-the-road performance, our popular high-end lift kits, shocks and accessories are leaders in the enthusiast and professional truck and SUV customizer markets.

A passion for off road racing and the meteoric rise in UTV popularity inspired Justin to begin developing suspension and performance upgrades for Polaris, Can-Am and Yamaha.

With our own factory supported race team, Team Cognito/Polaris/Monster Energy, and Justin driving, the team has achieved pinnacle success in SCORE and BITD competition - including a BITD World Championship title, along with class wins at the Mint 400, UTV World Championships, Baja 1000 and Baja 500.

With proven performance and durability in the most extreme conditions, under the pressures of competition, Cognito has quickly become a leader in UTV aftermarket products for enthusiasts and hardcore competitors who want only the best.
